In 1999 I proposed a “Sequential Art” course to Lenny Scarola at LCAD, which he promptly integrated into the animation schedule and which evolved into “Visual Storytelling” in the 2000’s, then into a Freshman class called “Fundamentals of Story” in 2017.
Below are syllabi for earlier and later iterations. The 2012 version includes formatting problems from digital migration, but if it interests you as a matter of record of a particular class meant to empower a particular group of Laguna College students in a thriving animation program at the time, there it is.
